Momma B
(Elder Statesman)
Hey there! In the ED world I go by Momma B and I am one of the "elders" working on this site. I wear many hats in my life but my most prominent ones are that of mom, psychiatric nurse, and US Marine (a decade ago). I struggled with bulimia every day for 17 years and finally went into residential treatment at the beginning of the summer. I was away from my family for 8 weeks while I fought for my life back. Thankfully, it helped a lot! I stepped down to a partial program from 9am-3:30pm Mon-Sat. Long hours, but at least I was able to go home to my kids and husband every night. Getting intensive treatment for my ED was the best decision I ever made. I now have control over my life and my days are not filled with urges and behaviors.

Ryan K
(Elder Statesman)
Hey y'all! I'm Kim but go by Ryan, a pseudonym I used on my recovery blog (RyanDoesResi.com) before "coming out." After 12 years of battling anorexia and bulimia, I finally went into treatment last winter. I started with PHP then IOP from December - April then ultimately residential care at the beginning of June for two months. This was the best decision I could have made for myself. I have since been in PHP and soon IOP and will be living with Jess in our recovery focused apartment. Aside from my EDentity, I've been in investment management marketing for eight years and am currently working towards two master's degrees in business and finance. I love writing, drawing, being with friends/fam and George Ezra.

Zack
Hey guys! My name is Zack and I'm 18 (the youngest on this site). I'm a transgender guy and I've been fighting a combination of anorexia, bulimia, depression, anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder my whole life. But that hasn't stopped me by any means! I've been in and out of hospitals for the past three years and I entered residential treatment this past summer (2015) to receive care for my eating disorder. That was a decision that ultimately I didn't play a role in and was made after I spent seven weeks in a hospital where NG tubes were a frequent. Giving up control once I got there was honestly the hardest decision I've ever made but it saved my life and I'm grateful everyday that I did. I'm currently back home and have been out of treatment for the longest period of time ever. I'm starting college in the spring and guess what? I'm happy- Oh yah, and I'm in an absolutely amazing relationship that is showing me I deserve love and makes me happier each day. Things are working out.

Jess (J-Dawg)
Hello everybody! My name is Jess (or J-Dawg, as my fellow blog owners call me), and I’m in my fourth and last year of nursing school. So as you may have guessed by now, I also have an eating disorder. I’ve been struggling with anorexia, bulimia, depression, and anxiety since I was 14 years old. At the age of 20, my body finally gave up and I entered treatment for the first time. The months of treatment have been the hardest, scariest, and most confusing months of my life, but they have also been the most amazing. I’m finally discovering who I really am without the eating disorder, and am learning to enjoy life again. I’ve realized life can actually be fun, happiness is obtainable, love is real, and it’s okay to be yourself… who would have thunk?!
